Extra Cash – April 2019

If you had asked me years ago “is it possible to make money from home in Canada”, I would’ve laughed and said it was a pipe-dream.  Now, I am learning that there are so many ways for Canadians to earn extra cash both online and off through a number of different avenues.

Make extra money from home in Canada

I am so excited to share my extra cash reports with you each month!  As you may remember, I have the lofty goal of making/saving an extra $18,000 in 2019!

As a single income, homeschooling family with multiple children, this extra money goes towards our day-to-day living expenses, paying down debt, home learning supplies and splurges for fun vacations and indulgences.

My extra income is a combination of coupon savings, cashback earnings, payments for surveys, freelancing, odd jobs and various side hustles. If you want to learn more about any of the sources that I have earned from, simply click on it to be directed to a review I have written or the site itself.

My earnings are minuscule at best.  This is simply because I only have 2-3 hours (often less) to spare each night on money making endeavors.  Nevertheless, those couple of hours are enough to give me, a stay-at-home mom extra spending money each month.

Remember, I share my extra earning sources to give you more ideas on how to make extra cash on the side.  Please feel free to ask in the comments if you have any questions as I am happy to help!

2019 is definitely getting off to a good start for this Canadian’s extra income!

Still on a cleaning roll from last month, I set about re-organizing my entire house!  As I decluttered, not only did I donate a large amount of items, but I also sold a fair bit giving me some decent extra cash.

I also decided to cash in some Thirty-One Gifts Wishes Rewards, which on top of a few sales gave me a really nice bonus this month!

Add in a freelance payment and some Norwex sales and April turned out pretty decent!

Here’s how I ended up with an extra $1597.76 in April!

$434.12 – Thirty-One Gifts
$256.83 – Newspaper Delivery
$200 – Freelance Editing
$195 – Facebook Sales
$122.65 – Coupons
$107.09 – Norwex
$100 – PC Optimum
$50 – Swagbucks
$26.89 – Treasure Trooper (USD)
$21.69 – Caddle
$20 – Sobeys General Mills Promo (over now)
$20.00 – Checkout 51
$20.00 – SBKC
$10.00 – Airmiles
$6.00 – Lottery Wins
$4.51 – Blog Affiliate Programs
$3.01 – Google Opinion Rewards

This extra $1597.76 brings my total for the year so far to $5558.68!

  1. This is so inspiring. I really want to get started freelancing and I have hopefully just secured a deal to get my foot in the door. I would appreciate any tips you have though, as i’m struggling a bit with selling myself and pitching.

    1. Congratulations!

It’s all about that first contact and building from there.

I found my main freelance gig on Kijiji (a Canadian version of Craigslist), and it has really evolved from there. I didn’t put together a formal application, just asked what he was looking for and created a sample piece geared towards what he wanted. The biggest key for me has been figuring out what my clients want and being receptive and flexible with the feedback they give.

Your blog is fantastic and will definitely help sell your story telling abilities.

      Wishing you much success,
      Elena

  2. Awesome. This is definitely the way to go. Some people tend to use only 1-2 sites. Any source of income is amazing. It’s nice to see that you have so many sources.

I’ll make sure to stay updated on your earnings and posts. Nice work!

    1. Thank you!

It’s amazing how many opportunities there are out there, and I find it kind of fun to sort through them to see what actually works and is legit!

Thanks for stopping by and joining me on my journey!
