April Goal Recap

Lose 2lbs a week by December 31 2014–NOT ON TRACK– Another bad month 🙁 Fortunately I didn’t gain any weight, unfortunately, I didn’t lose any either.

Put $12000 into savings by December 31 2014–NOT ON TRACK– The basement renovations are still going on now into May, so all our extra money went into it during April. Looks like we will finish everything without taking on any debt! Whoo hoo!

Earn an extra $12000 by December 31 2014– NOT ON TRACK– Outside of regular income, we brought in an extra $310.88. I’m really going to have to step it up in this area this month.

Start a daycare in September 2014–ON TRACK– Basement renovation is almost complete – we just have to do doors, trim and touch ups…then decorating of course! I’ve also developed the majority of the contracts, handbooks, and legal forms, and have hired a graphic designer to create the logo!

Read a book a month by December 2014– NOT ON TRACK– I almost finished Forgotten by Catherine McKenzie – a very different story from The Twelve Tribes of Hattie.

Finish the basement by August 2014–ON TRACK– Pretty much finished! We just have to do trim, doors, a few touch-ups; attach plumbing fixtures and then decorate! I can’t wait for this to be done and to get my house back and organized!

Plant a fruit/vegetable garden in spring 2014–NOT ON TRACK– I have lots of ideas, but am now realizing that this may not happen, as we are going to be putting up a fence and building a shed. Will have to wait and see how the timing of those projects go in order to make time and room for the garden.

Like March, April has been bitter sweet. The basement renovations are key to opening my business in the fall and they are coming along so well. The business is also really coming together nicely and I should be able to start advertising and interviewing prospect families by the end of May. However, the chaos has led to a lot of stress eating, anxiety and a definite bank account drain.
