While I had to do 3 different transactions, using 3 different Optimum cards, I have to say I really enjoyed the computer automatically processing the store promos and thus being able to combine them with manufacturer coupons without resistance from the store staff. Even though it was a little more work organizing the transactions since I had to remember which card had which promos and the details of them (instead of looking at the coupon in front of me), the smoothness of the transaction made it well worth the effort!
Here’s how my transactions worked out:
Transaction #1
Canada Dry Gingerale $3.49 – $2 coupon – 2400 points store coupon = +$1.51
Softsoap $1.99 – 1600 points store coupon = +$0.01
Mouthwash $2.69 – 2300 points = +$0.18
Regular points = 80
Total with taxes = $7.23
Total points = 6380 ($7.97 on a regular redemption)
Total = +$0.74
Transaction #2
Canada Dry Gingerale $3.49 – $2 – 2400 points store coupon = +$1.51
Softsoap $1.99 – 1000 points store coupon = $0.74
Regular points = 50
Total with taxes = $4.19
Total Points = 3450 ($4.31 on a regular redemption)
Total = +$0.12
Transaction #3
Canada Dry Gingerale $3.49 – $2 – 2400 points store coupon = +$1.51
Crackers = $1.99
Bag = $0.05
Regular Points = 50
Total with taxes = $3.87
Total Points = 2450 ($3.06 on a regular redemption)
Total = $0.81
and got back 12280 points ($15.35 on a regular redemption)
Thus earning $0.06 by buying all this stuff!
